My best friend and I have an ongoing argument: whether it is better to have fine straight hair or thick textured hair. She has fine hair, and I am blessed with the latter. It is the typical case of the grass is greener, since I wish for my friend’s hair every time I style my hair.  Although I have refined my styling techniques, it still takes me about an hour to perfect my coif! Humidity is my enemy and I swear that my hair adds an extra 10 lbs to my weight! And so, I decided to skip the styling this weekend and opted for a messy bun, complete with head scarf for a brunch date with the BF (not BFF).
Happy Monday to you all! XX

I have always been a fan of stripes, but I usually opt for one statement piece per outfit. I chose to try an all stripe outfit for a change and loved the final result. The look is simple, thanks to the subtle grey and pink colors, yet fun thanks to the different stripe pattern.  In other news, I’m really excited to showcase a new widget (below) that lets you browse and shop similar looks to my daily outfit posts.  Let me know what you think! My favorite part of the day is at sunset, as it signifies the beginning of a relaxing evening with loved ones or friends, the end of the workday, and just because sunsets in LA are so beautiful.  I received this dress as a gift from my cousin and I just love it – it is the perfect work to happy hour dress. The cocoon style cut simple sheen make this a pretty perfect LBD and the perfect pairing to my favorite yellow blazer.

Lately, dinner dates have been about trousers with a casual tank and embellished clutch. It takes the complexity out of thinking of what to wear.  As much as I love dressing up in pretty and delicate dresses, I also love the simplicity of menswear inspired looks.

It is no secret how much I love these Alice & Olivia  trousers – they are the perfect shade of raspberry and go with a variety of colors and prints, plus elongate my petite frame! What’s not to love? I wear these trousers to the office, lunch with my girl friends, and a spontaneous date night with the BF.

My obsession with lace continues… I had to buy this cute number from Forever 21 as soon as it saw it and I’m glad I did. It was my go to dress during my Virginia and DC trip.  Sweltering triple digit temperatures called for lightweight and effortless pieces, and this dress fit the bill.  My only regret, I didn’t buy the dress in other colors before it sold out.

How to Wear a Yellow Blazer #11 – Lacey Behavior

This lace skirt has been one of my most versatile pieces this season – from casual to glamorous, this skirt has it going on. After returning from my enjoyable yet exhausting trip to the hot and humid east coast, I immediately had to get back to work. To ease the pain of going into the office right away, I grabbed some of my favorite pieces to wear. Thankfully, they worked together, since sometimes that may not be the case! I hope you’re all having a fabulous week. As always, thanks for stopping by.
