Holiday Gift Guide: Under $25

I love the process of putting together my holiday shopping list and then hitting up the shops around town to buy all sorts of gifts for the people in my life.  Each year before I start my holiday shopping I put together gift guides of varying budgets to help me stay focused.  This year, I’ve decided to jot down some of my favorite items at a few budgets to share with you: under $25, under $50, and under $100.  The great part about putting together a gift guide is that I usually find some of the coolest and most unique items in the under $25 range – great right?!  I hope this little guide helps you. Plus, I would love to hear what you do to help you stay focused in this crazy shopping season.

Blue Crush

Don’t you just love finding fabulous party dresses? I found this cute number at H&M and snagged it for less than $50! I mean the beautiful blue color and v-cut back were calling out my name as soon as I walked into the store!  I donned this dress for Thanksgiving with my new go-to hair do: loose & messy waves.

Speaking of easy hair-dos… This Friday I’m going to be meeting up with my fab friend Brig (you may remember her as the winner of Shear Genius last season!) to try out a few easy-peasy holiday hair-dos. I’ll be posting on the blog soon so be sure to stay tuned for some hot hair how-tos for the holidays, or follow along on Instagram while it’s all happening!

Denim on Denim & Xmas Tree Shopping

Although BF and I been doing a lot of shopping lately (shopping for a home and wedding venues + vendors), we managed to stay away from any black Friday sales this past weekend.  Instead, we spent a lot of time with the family, also known as hanging around and eating lots of food.  We topped off the holiday weekend shopping for a Christmas tree and decorated our place complete with tinsel and garlands.  It’s already beginning to feel a lot like Christmas, although it was sunny and 80 degrees in Los Angeles!

Here’s  how shopping went…

Today marks the first day of my favorite time of year, which lasts all the way through January!  The holiday season brings so much gratitude, excitement, happiness, and relaxation – and to share all of it with those we love is a gift in itself.   Today, I’m grateful for:

– my wonderful and healthy family
– sharing a home with my loving fiance
– my job, magazines, and breakfast in bed
– morning cups of coffee, cashmere throws, and champagne
– my beautiful and fun girlfriends
– surprises, mani-pedis, and Sunday brunch
– evening strolls, fresh baked scones, and vintage books
– all of you for reading my little blog

Happy Weekend

My baby brother and his wife (boy they grow up so fast!) arrived into town last night to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with the rest of the family.  I’m anticipating a week full of eating (naturally), shopping with my sister in law (of course) , and a formal family portrait, per my Mom.  We’re going to start the weekend off right by checking out the Hughes Warehouse Sale – I have my eye on the Bertoia wire chair, so don’t snag it before I get there, please.  Then we’ll catch a matinee showing of Twilight (my sister is Team Edward, my sister in law is Team Jacob, and I’m Team I should have never agreed to watch this movie!).  I have always loved the holiday season and this year it seems to have started off perfectly with the arrival of my brother and his wife, and waking up to a beautiful rainy morning in Los Angeles.  I hope you all have a beautiful weekend. XO

Channeling Coco

It must not come as a surprise that I love everything French, including the simple and chic fashions.  All it takes is a striped tee, midi skirt, and touches of red (a la heels and lips) to get the look.  Here’s how to get the look:

Dress: Vintage from Shareen | Heels: Zara | Watch: Michele | Lipstick: Love That Red | Nails: Dior Blue Label

On a recent vintage shopping trip, I picked up this beauty from one of my favorite shops in LA, Shareen Vintage.  The selection at Shareen is beyond fabulous – Shareen herself searches above and beyond to find unique vintage pieces for her clients.  One trip to Shareen and you will find all of the vintage pieces you have ever dreamed of wearing.  Shareen herself will pick out items that will suit your body type, and best of all, the prices on most items are easy on the wallet (between $30-$50).  This little red number caught my eye as soon as I walked into Shareen and had to try it on – I mean the peplum, cross-back straps, and the shade of red are perfect!  It is a very tiny vintage size, but I was able to squeeze into it (thankfully!).
