Ladies Who Lunch

I love simply chic dresses that only require a fun pair of heels and clutch and the voila!  I love the sequin detailing of the dress and the flowy skirt which is so ladylike, but the color is all fun and perfect for spring.  It was the dress to wear for a lunch date with my Mom – we love to doll up in our most fabulous new dresses and go out to lunch.  It’s definitely one of my favorite mother-daughter bonding activities.  This is definitely a dress that I’ll be wearing through the spring and summer with fun flats for a casual look and fabulous heels for a sophisticated look.

Minty Blue

Blue is my favorite color – most of my closet consists of blue blouses, cardigans, sweaters, and dresses, yet I still buy more.  I couldn’t resist this blouse from Anthropologie, especially since it was on sale and I had a gift card that I received as a birthday gift (I can’t believe I actually held on to it for almost a month). I was super excited to throw it on with my mint capris this past weekend for a casual stroll.  I also started using this bag again after several years of it hanging out in my closet. After failing to sell it on eBay after a few months, I decided that I still loved it and have started using it again.  Who knew that I would fall in love with a bag I was ready to dismiss for chump change (literally).

Pink Leopard

I had the pleasure of working with Beth again and my friend Jenny recently.  Beth and I met last year through blogging and have continued to stay in touch.  It is one of the things I love most about blogging – you meet fabulous people and make great friends.  Beth invited us for a delicious lunch date,  on a rainy day if I recall (hence the volume/frizz), and then snapped these fabulous pictures.  Jenny and I got a first glimpse of the Stella & Dot spring collection and had to model some of our favorites for these pictures.  My favorite is definitely the Spring Awakening Necklace – how perfect is it!?   I loved pairing it with my bright outfit and leopard coat. It was definitely the right statement necklace to add to my statement look!

HPK

Since we had another beautiful weekend in LA again, the BF and I took the opportunity to check out one of the new parklets in Highland Park. Parklets are small urban parks, usually created by replacing under-utilized parking spots with a patio, planters, trees, benches and cafe tables.  I love that parklets create a public place for citizens to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the city around them – BF and I enjoyed some delicious scoops ice cream after checking out some of the new interior design shops in the neighborhood.

Honeymooning

My favorite thing leading up to the wedding has been planning out our honeymoon itinerary.  BF and I knew we wanted to venture somewhere where we could mingle in quaint neighborhoods with locals, soak in the culture, and eat some really good food.  We ventured through Eastern Europe last summer for several weeks and we loved it.  So we thought about heading south and visiting Italy – well, this idea only lasted about 15 minutes.  The BF, trained as an architect and now a practicing Urban Designer, wants to spend at least 2-3 weeks in Rome soaking in the architecture. I had to talk him back to reality and assure him that I will send him on his own trip to Rome for the full architecture tour. I equated the 3 week architecture tour to me spending 3 weeks window shopping on Champs Elysees – that did the trick!  It also opened up the discussion to another destination – France! I visited Paris with my best friend several years ago and I fell in love with the city of lights as most people do so I was on board with BFs idea to frolicking in a few French cities.  We’re thinking of starting out in Paris, which includes several Le Corbusier stops  (think Coco Chanel of modern architecture – sigh) and then heading south to Provence for wine tasting, decadent meals, and long walks in fields of lavender.  We’ll finish out our trip in Cassis (pictured above), which is a beautiful beach town in Provence. Exciting right?

What do you think of our itinerary so far? Do you have any recommendations? Where did you and your love travel for your honeymoon? Where is your dream destination?

Simple

I have been searching for the perfect leopard coat for some time. I definitely did not want a calf hair coat nor do I care for the fluffy texture of other faux versions. I really wanted a cotton or linen blend coat that would look sophisticated and look structured. I was so excited (I think I squealed in the middle of the store) when I came across this beauty at H&M.  It’s available in stores now and it’s only $59. I was lucky enough to purchase it with a 30% off coupon I received in the mail.  I have been wearing the coat with almost every outfit lately since it’s so versatile. It was the perfect coat to my simple black and white tee and jeans combo the other day. And I threw on a string of pearls since after all I am a lady!
