How to Wear a Yellow Blazer #20 – Au Revoir!

Blazer: Zara
Dress: J. Crew
Heels: Miu Miu
Bag: Zara
Scarf: H&M

And so here is my last outfit post with my beloved yellow blazer. It was so much fun to try out so many different outfits with this trendy piece – it has actual become a staple in my closet because of its versatility. I hope I have inspired some outfit posts for you along the way.  Most importantly, it’s okay to splurge on a trendy piece each season, as long as you’re ready to try out variety of different looks with it.  This is not goodbye for my yellow blazer since I still have another 20 looks that I will try out (I will spare you the posts).  If you’d like to see a series of “how to” wear a trend item, please leave me comment and I would love to take on another fashion challenge! XO

And if I have successfully inspired you to splurge on a yellow blazer, here are some options:

How to Wear a Yellow Blazer #18 – Cocktail Hour

Blazer: Zara (save here, splurge here)
Dress: BCBG (old)
Heels: Pour la Victoire (similar here for $30)
Clutch: Gustto
Jewelry: David Yurman bracelet & ring, vintage bracelet, Michele watch

I love it when I find an “oldie but a goodie” in my closet, like this dress.  I’ve had it for years, but I haven’t put it on for the last 2 summers! Finding an old dress in your closet is almost as fabulous as shopping, especially when the dress still fits!  Given the horribly hot weekend in LA, this dress was the perfect find for a night out for cocktails.  It has inspired me to dig around a bit more and see what other treasures I can find in my closet!

How to Wear a Yellow Blazer #16 – Sail Away

Blazer: Zara, similar here and here (on sale for $47!)
Blouse: Equipment
Shorts: H&M (old)
Heels: Zara
Clutch: LV

When it comes to mixing bright colors, one of my favorite color combinations is coral/pink and yellow, last seen here.  I love that my very dark hair pops against the bright yellow blazer (yay for brunettes!) and the coral adds some warmness to the overall look.  And you can’t have a proper summer outfit without some nautical elements (enter the most fabulous Equipment blouse ever).  Enjoy today’s outfit – Sail Away – and let’s hope this week quickly headways into the weekend!

How to Wear a Yellow Blazer #15 – Weekend Wear

Blazer: Zara, similar here and here
Shirt: Elizabeth & James, cute version here
Shorts: DIY 7 Jeans, similar here for $19
Heels: Zara
Necklace: Anthropologie (on sale in stores!)
Clutch: H&M

Despite the intense heat in LA (summer has finally arrived for us!), I was able to wear my blazer for a casual outing. A blazer is a must since the AC is blazing everywhere I go and I’m always the first one in the group to get chilly.  I hope you are all enjoying your week!

How to Wear a Yellow Blazer #14 – Orangesicle

Blazer: Zara, similar here and here
Dress: StyleMint
Heels: Zara
Jewelry: Vintage Givenchy Necklace, Vintage Whiting Davis & J. Crew Bracelets

This outfit reminds me of one of my all time favorite treats from when I was a girl. I always bought an orangesicle from the ice cream tuck, plus a packet of Limon 7 Salt & Lemon Powder for later in the day.  Unfortunately, the ice cream man does not swing by my office during the summer months, so the closest thing to enjoying my childhood popsicle is dressing up like it.  Enjoy Orangesicle – the latest outfit from my yellow blazer series. (We’re almost at 20 – thanks for bearing with me as I get through all 20!)

How to Wear a Yellow Blazer #13 – White Out

Blazer: Zara, similar here and here
Tee: Target (the most perfect tee for only $8!)
Jeans: Thrifted for $3
Wedges: Jessica Simpson
Clutch: Zara
Scarf: Vintage
Necklace: Vintage
Bracelets: J. Crew

My best friend and I have an ongoing argument: whether it is better to have fine straight hair or thick textured hair. She has fine hair, and I am blessed with the latter. It is the typical case of the grass is greener, since I wish for my friend’s hair every time I style my hair.  Although I have refined my styling techniques, it still takes me about an hour to perfect my coif! Humidity is my enemy and I swear that my hair adds an extra 10 lbs to my weight! And so, I decided to skip the styling this weekend and opted for a messy bun, complete with head scarf for a brunch date with the BF (not BFF).
Happy Monday to you all! XX
