LACMA in Pleats and Stripes

We finally got around to seeing the  Tim Burton exhibit at LACMA (yay for our membership). Even if you’re not a fan of Tim Burton, it is a fascinating exhibit to visit because you get to experience the formation and creation of his artistic identity. I left the exhibit feeling a bit uncreative after seeing Tim’s works (in elementary school!), but I got over it. Before heading to LACMA I needed my food fix.  We stopped by one of our favorite haunts in Eagle Rock, Auntie Em’s, for some delish food – the red velvet cupcakes are to die for. Unfortunately, I devoured my cupcake before I took a picture of it so you will have to trust me and visit Auntie Em’s Kitchen. 😉

Derives: Lazy Days of Summer

Ah, the lazy days of summer.  The BF and I decided to enjoy an incredibly lazy Saturday afternoon at Larchmont Village.  We were desperately craving the delicious sandwiches at Larchmont Village Wine, Spirits, & Cheese.  If you haven’t stopped by this tiny deli, you are missing out on their super scrumptious sandwiches – they have a limited menu of 5 sandwiches, but you will leave satisfied.  We also stopped by the fairly new Goorin Brothers Hats shop to get the BF a new fedora – love the decor and the selection of hats.  Of course, I did some shopping and bought myself some new dresses for our summer trip to the mid-west to visit BF’s family.
